I spoke at this informal meetup for those worried about the growing backlash against diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in journalism. In a time when DEI programs are being cut and political pressures are mounting, especially from right-wing parties, powerful donors and media owners, how do we sustain fair, inclusive, and nuanced coverage?

It was an opportunity to share experiences, exchange strategies, and explore new ideas to navigate these challenges. We discussed strategies for maintaining editorial independence, and explored ways to ensure inclusive reporting.
